What
are cookies and do I have to accept them?
The person or company hosting the site uses cookies for a wide variety of reasons. They can gather information about your visiting habits and create a profile. It's not really necessary to receive cookies, but in some cases, in can be a good idea. (For example, Amazon.com knows whom I am, that I've ordered before, and my preferences when I go to their web site.) But you can choose not to accept cookies if you wish.
Here is how you turn off cookies:
ü Internet Explorer: Go to view menu >> Internet Options. Click on the Advanced tab. Go down to "cookies." From there you can choose whether to have it set at "always accept cookies", "prompt before accepting cookies", or "disable all cookie use."
ü Netscape Communicator: Go to edit >> preferences. Click on the advanced category. Click on the button that you desire.
